Just like Charles Pooley said, you can only put so mud in an piece of paper.
But in your website you can show how much you know about a specific area, if you are looking for a job or you want to show your expertise, or maybe just earn more money. You need to leverage the power of your own website.

A website when looking for a job can help you put your information ahead of others without a website.
You can control what shows online about you. It doesn’t have to be a complicated web site with hundreds of pages.
Something simple with information about your skills, experience, and what you bring to the table will help you stand out in a job search.
3 reasons why you want a website when looking for a job.
- It will help you get found faster and before others without a website.
- Your website will help you stand out
- Your website is a great addition to your resume.
Google yourself, see what you find. Maybe some random links, possible some Facebook post, and a few pictures that won’t help you get a job.
Tip: Get a .com with your name. For example my name is Angel Anderson and my personal website is http://www.angelanderson.com. It will help you gain more control over what hiring managers, future employers and other people see if they Google you before or after your interview.
When people search for you, what you want them to se?
Your Facebook jokes? probably not…What better way to show them than with blog post about things you have done, things you have learn and how you have help others. The more blog post you publish in your website, the more information will appear about you when others search for you.

I’m not saying that should ignore print resumes. What i’m saying is that having a personal website and online resume can tell parts of your story that your print resume can’t. A print resume, after all, is often limited to one page, whereas a website can feature a portfolio of your work and projects, direct feedback or testimonials from your references, links to online studies or initiatives you have participated in, and additional work information that won’t fit on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of copy paper.
Make it easy for people to find you
Your contact information most be current.
While obvious, it’s sometimes overlooked. Make it easy for people to contact you not just in your contact page but when possible have your name, email and phone number in your header and footer as well.
